14K Or 18K Gold - Which Should I Choose For My Wedding Band?

To understand the difference between 14K and 18K gold, you should understand the makeup of the metal. 24K is 100% pure gold. While pure gold is a very strong metal, it is also the most malleable. The extreme malleability and softness of pure gold make it practically useless in manufacturing jewelry. In order to be able to use it for jewelry applications, manufacturers mix gold with other metals to harden it. The difference between 14K and 18K is the amount of pure gold vs. the amount of other metals used:

24K = 100% Gold
18K = 75% Gold and 25% other metal
14K = 58.3% Gold and 41.67% other metal

The other metals alloyed (melted, or mixed) with gold will change the color of the final metal, and this is how the color of yellow gold and white gold are achieved. The ratio of gold to other metals remains the same for yellow and white gold.

Should I choose 14K or 18K gold for my wedding band? Below are the differences to help make your decision:

1. Scratch Resistance: The 'other metals' are harder than gold. High heels have this power over men and even turn on some women for that matter. In this article we are going to discuss wearing jeans with high heels. Jeans, if fit properly, give your legs and butt a sexy defined shape and movement that is nicely accented with a pair of high heels. But not just any heel will do. So here are a few things to think about before you go out to insure you turn heads while strutting your stuff.

1. Jeans themselves come in many different styles and colors. When shopping for jeans, look for a tapered leg, not a boot cut, as a boot cut tends to make legs look thicker than they are. Stretch jeans are good for that tight butt look but you do not want them tight by the ankle as you want the jeans to come down over the top of the foot to about midway between the very back of the toes and ankle. If your legs are on the thicker side, finding jeans that fit properly to your leg may be hard as they will tend to fit in one area but not the other. Do not give up hope just yet. If you know your waist measurement then head over to the men's section of the store. These jeans are cut differently and you may find that they fit you better. You want to look for a relaxed fit when looking through men's jeans. The big issue when trying on men's jeans is the crotch. Make sure you do not buy a pair that has material bunched up in that area.

2. Now that you have a pair of jeans, the type of heel you add to them is also very important. With jeans you want to wear a higher heel.

A 3 - 5 inch heel is the best for this look. You can also wear a heel with a mini-platform as they work very nicely. If you choose to go with the mini-platform, try to find one that has a silver accent line or some sort of accent, but do not go overboard.

3. When the jeans are worn with the heels, the jeans should come down to or just below the arch of your foot hiding your ankle and some of the top part of the foot. This leaves only the heel and toe area showing.

A. You can wear open or closed toe shoes with the look, but if you decide to wear open toe sandals make sure you paint your nails a bright color like a bright red or blue. Also make sure the heels you pick are not too strappy. You do not want to cover the exposed part of your foot with straps. Pick a heel that either has a clear section or only has 2 or 3 straps crossing the foot.

B. If choosing a closed toe, you also do not want to pick a shoe that covers the entire top of the foot as you want to leave a little skin showing. Pointy toe shoes work best, but if you want to wear a rounded or square toe, try to find a pair in a PU and not patent as the patent will take away from the look due to the shininess of the shoe.

Notes:

We have found that black or dark colored heels go best with blue jeans where colored heels like blue or red go better with black jeans. White heels just do not seem to work very well and should not be worn with jeans.

Tip #1: C Pattern Design

If your purse is the 'c' or 'cc' style stitching you will be able to use this pattern to inspect for authenticity. Look at the purse to check for the following.

a. The c pattern should go straight up and down.
b. The pattern will be centered on the front and back panel of the purse.
c. The seam will go straight through 'c' or 'cc' pattern not cutting off letters.
d. Look at a few photos online of the c pattern on the style of purse you are looking to purchase.

There should be a consistency with the pattern.

Tip #2: Leather Label with Serial Number

There is a serial number that exists in the majority of the real Coach purses that begins with 'No' that is located on the inside sewn in leather label. On some of the smaller authentic purse sizes there is not a leather tag. These styles would include the clutch, swingback, and the mini. I have also seen fakes that have the sewn in label starting with a No followed by a serial number. However, when you compare the fake label to the real one the quality of leather and imprinting is obvious which is real. The words on the label should also be in all-caps.

Tip #3: Know the Real Deal

I would suggest you visit retailers of real Coach stores to begin to teach yourself what an authentic Coach purse looks and feels like. Pay attention to the look and feel of the leather, lining, zipper, stitching and leather tag. As you become more familiar with the real Coach handbags, you will recognize a fake easier.

Tip #4: Poor Craftsmanship - Leather is Pieced Together

View the stitching on the purse. Stitches that are different in width or have threads coming out of the seam are a great way to spot a knockoff. In a real Coach handbag the stitching is impeccable.

Tip #7: C not G

I think this one should go without saying but it bears to mention since it must be working on some people. The Coach brand starts with a 'c' not a 'g.' It is unbelievably silly to me but some Coach knockoffs have the stitching of a 'g' or 'gg' not a 'c' or 'cc.'

Tip #8: Packaging

I have seen some auctions with pictures of purses with plastic wrapped handles. To my knowledge this would also be a sign of a fake Coach purse.

Tip #9: Read the About Us Section or Seller Info
Retail websites that just do not say which they are selling are normally selling fakes. Read about the retailer. Do a Google search on the retailer to see if people are happy with the service.

If you are looking to buy on ebay, purchase from someone who has a great track record for selling Coach purses. Ebay does not permit sellers to sell fakes and monitors this problem, but sellers can still slip through the cracks.

What Would a Fashion Model's Diet Plan be?

Fashion models depend on their slim figures for their livelihood, so it's imperative that they always look good. Don't worry, I'm not suggesting that you should embark on a diet of leaves and nuts. I'm not an advocate of the size zero, but I'm sure you'll find it interesting to know what sort of diet a fashion model would choose.

The Fashion Models Diet Plan

A favourite way for models to look good is to "Cleanse" or "Fast". This is not a complete starvation diet, as it will include the intake of soups and fruit juices over a 3 to7 day period. It is more of a detox routine and is generally only carried out once or twice a year.

The benefits of this detox is to obviously rid the body of harmful toxins, such as preservatives and food additives together with inhaled smoke and fumes. It also gives the colon a chance to rid the digestive system of any fecal build up. The results can be dramatic as the liver and kidneys are able to repair and replace damaged cells instead of continuing to rid the body of toxins.

A typical "Cleanse" diet might consist of a combination of fresh carrots, celery, beet, spinach, apple, coconut, broth and juices. Citrus and tomato juices are too acidic to drink while fasting so these should be avoided. It's important to drink plenty of water during the detox and avoid consuming any unnecessary medications or supplements.

The advantages of a detox are weight loss, reduced body odour, shinier finger nails, stronger hair, reduced cellulite, a glowing complexion and more beautiful eyes.
