$40000 Haute Couture Heels for Fashion High Priestesses

If you frown and shake your head when people spend $500 - $1000 on shoes - then check these shoes out. They are Dovima shoes designed by Bruno Frisoni for Roger Vivier's Couture Collection, where prices range from $12000 - $40,000!

These are shoes for the high priestesses of Haute Couture. These women collect couture fashion the same way that others collect paintings. After all, fashion is wearable art. Dresses costing upwards of $100,000 and more are not unheard of.

Sergio Rossi Steps Up With Puma Limited Edition Shoes

Italian fashion designer Sergio Rossi has been signed by Puma to create new line of shoes. The new designs include the Clyde sneaker and its high-heeled version, the Chic-Sneak. The shoes will be a limited edition creation and will be available at Sergio Rossi and Puma stores this March.

You can choose from two styles - a Mary-Jane shoe featuring Puma's signature velcro strap and a lace-up pump. Both would look great with jeans. I would love to see them worn with a denim skirt or long denim dress. Click on each photo to see more details.

Virus AD-36: The Invasion of The Fat People

Before you spend money on that expensive new wardrobe - read this. Scientists in the UK have isolated a fat virus or germ - AD-36, that causes obesity. Some had suspected, but never had the proof - until now.

The virus evidently can be spread airborne like the common cold. Apparently, I too must be a carrier, as I used to be skinny. The AD-36 virus resists attempts of diets, and views exercise as a threat. The adage "feed a cold, starve a fever" makes more sense now.

Needless to say, this may cause panic, ridicule and perhaps discrimination amongst some of the general public. This could be my last blog entry, as I expect to be rounded up any day now with my overweight comrades, after word of this spreads.

Woman Flushes $70000 Diamond Ring Down The Toilet

A plumber possibly saved a marriage by retrieving a $ 78,000 diamond ring accidentally flushed down a restaurant toilet. Apparently the ring slipped off her hand on the flush. Someone needs to have their ring resized pronto.

The plumber used state of the art fiber optic cameras to spot the ring in a few hours - yet still took more time than that tearing the bathroom up to retrieve it...hmmmm...something smells about that. I wonder if his name was Joe?

Expensive Designer Clothes Sarah Palin Wore Trashed

The beautiful and very expensive designer suits, jackets and skirts, that GOP Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin wore, are now tied up in trash bags! According to sources, they are languishing at the RNC headquarters in Washington DC. The original price for the fancy duds were between $150 - $180 thousand dollars.

With the downturn in the economy - these same clothes probably could be purchased for half the price, based on recent designer fashion sales. I have no idea why these clothes were not sold at auction, to at least recoup some of the original purchase price. I love the sexy red power suit and the boots pictured.

Fashionistas everywhere, are wondering why this uncouth couture storage act, was done on such beautiful garments. This is much worse than using wire hangers.

Update: Palin's Shoes Sell For Over $2000

Visiting A Hair Salon

By Jene Pedder

Visiting a hair salon can be a very scary and daunting task for some people girls and boys, women and men. It may be because they’ve had a scary experience in the past maybe the hairdresser cut the hair wrong, the hairdresser didn’t do what the client told them too, wrong colour or even an allergic reaction to the bleach or colour.

Whatever your reasons I have 10 steps in which I hope will help you get over your phobia of visiting a hair salon:

1. Only go to reputable salons – a recommendation by a friend or family member is always a good start.

2. If you’re having colour on your hair insist on a skin test – a skin test is when a small amount of bleach or colorant is placed on your skin to see if you have a reaction, a reaction can be itching, blistering and or redness. A skin test is done at least a week before any hair appointment.

3. Tell the hairdresser exactly what style you want – if you have an idea what you want your hair to look like and have a picture take it to the hairdressers with you this will not only put your mind at rest but will help the hairdresser too.

4. Tell the hairdresser what you don’t want – if you don’t like one particular style tell the hairdresser, if you go into a hairdressers and say do anything you feel would look good but you hate one particular style, make sure u tell them.

5. If you want 1 or 2 inches off your hair and that’s all tell them – if you’ve gone to the hairdressers just to have an inch or tow off your hair tell the hairdresser that’s all you want doing. Don’t let the hairdresser sway your decision.

6. Choose a hairdresser you get along with – in a hair salon there’s always more than one stylist so choose one you like and can get on with, it will then be easier for you to talk to them telling them what you specifically want from your hair.

7. If you are really nervous, book with senior stylist – senior stylists in a hair salon are stylists with more experience. They will cost more money but will listen to your every need and make sure your happy with your cut and or colour.

8. Only want your hair done but bombarded with extras available – most hair salons now offer not only hair services but nail treatments, tanning, make-up services etc. if you don’t want any of these offered to you just make it clear in a nice manner you’ve come to have your hair done that’s all thank you.

9. Scared what the colour will look like? – if you want to change your hair colour, the best way is to start with 1 or 2 shades either lighter or darker of your normal hair colour. Don’t go from blonde to dark brown or dark brown to bright blonde, you need to do it gradually.

10. Go for a consultation before you book – if you are still unsure, why not book a consultation with the hairdresser of your choice and tell them exactly how you feel, if you’re scared explain why. They will then give you advice on what styles and colours would suit you, then you can give it a think before your actual appointment.

Everyone Should Have Their Own Madame Tussauds Wax Figure

Once again the folks at Madame Tussauds have out done themselves again. They have already finished an exact replica wax figure of President-Elect Barack Obama. I don't know about you - but I would love to have my very own wax image of me. That way I could place outfits on it to see if they look good on me.

I say this because friends will tell you what you want to hear. They won't tell you that you look like a complete idiot in that too tight, too-young-for-you outfit. Or that your toes look awful in those fancy new pumps. So, if I ever get crazy rich - I'm getting me one made. It takes about four months to make a wax figure, so I would probably have to wait for a year or more for delivery. The same way that people wait now for a new Hermes handbag or Bentley. Also, it would be nice to show people how hot I used to look fifty pounds ago in the future.

Hip hop clothing – 30 years of developing fashion

By David yuri

Fashion will always be a part of our lives. Not all people are attracted to what is new and hip, and styles vary with every person’s tastes. Even so, every time you walk out the door and stop to look in the mirror if your clothes are suited accordingly, you are trying to make a good fashionable impression.

Fashion is a general term that describes whether something fits with the popular mode of expression at a given time. But, at that specific time there may be a lot of expression modes taking place, and none related to the other. If something is fashionable at that point, that means it fits one of those styles. Let’s talk about the evolution of hip hop clothing.

This is a trend that started with the early hip hop singers like LL Cool J, Run DMC, Kurtis Blow and many others. While there were a lot of things that made a statement about the newly founded culture, like haircuts and jewelry, the most important of them all was hip hop clothing.

Back then, the clothes were mostly black-green-and-red. The 80s hip hop fashion also implied dreadlocks as haircuts and Africa chains as jewelry, which stated that this culture was a part of your life. With the passing of time and the evolution of the music, hip hop clothing also took a turn.

The 1990s brought with them baseball caps and colored clothes for some. Other singers were inspired by prison uniforms, which turned into the no belt fashion. The hip hop clothing trends in America were also divided according to regions. The west favored flannel shirts and sneakers, while the east was often represented by hooded tops and boots. Southern trend introduced gold teeth as fashionable.

The late 1990s also introduced new entries. Mafioso style became popular with alligator skin shoes and hats, with Jay-Z and Notorious B.I.G. as the pioneers, but also shiny suits with platinum jewelry were then a pleasant combination, something usually worn by P. Diddy.

All fashion trends started from a hip hop star. Whatever they decided was fashionable, the hip hop honeys embraced without a second thought. Everyone was free to decide what clothes they would wear to make a statement, but not all clothes were in tone with the current trends.

You may wonder what I mean by hip hop honeys. Well, these are the people that follow this culture anytime, anywhere. They know exactly what the new trends are, the kind of clothes that can be matched and what jewelry to wear with those clothes.

In the early days, hip hop honeys could find clothes to fit their tastes and culture in a relatively small number of brick and mortar stores. However, since the internet has now become more like a necessity than a whim, the stores have taken a virtual form. It takes only a computer, an internet connection and a few clicks to reach a reliable source of hip hop clothing.

Author Resource:-> Thirty years ago, hip hop clothing did not play a very important role in the fashion industry. Be that as it may, today the once isolated trend has grown into a world wide culture and hip hop honeys can be found all over the world dressing and acting like their favorite stars.

Modern Plus Size Clothing: No Need To Sacrifice Fashion

By Andrea Dilea

Locating plus size clothing for larger women can be a difficult endeavor. Fortunately, more businesses have begun to cater to this previously unserved segment of the population with attractive and well fitting garments in a variety of styles and sizes.

Plus size clothing should be selected according to your own personal preferences such as vibrant colors or flagrant prints. Accessories such as belts and scarves can update an outfit that was in a style that is now out of fashion.

Is there a plus size bra in your lingerie collection? Recently, a study showed that 70-85% of women's bras are the wrong size. Getting measured for a well-fitting bra isn't embarrassing. Usually, you won't even need to take off your shirt. Most plus size clothing stores have someone on staff that's trained to find your bra size, and the perfect bra for you.

It's nearly time to set forth on your large size clothes shopping spree. Consider the events in your future. Are there any weddings on your calendar or maybe a cocktail party at work? This is the time to buy that perfect large size outfit.

Take the time to select a dress that's just right for you now that you can choose from so many large size fashions. Perhaps you would look best in an elegant gown with empress sleeves or maybe you'd enjoy a sexy little short-skirted shift. You may be a larger woman, but you needn't wear garments down to your ankles because of that.

Do not fear joining completely different eras and designs. Purchase items you enjoy wearing, and that complement your body type. Bigger ladies can more easily wear daring dresses and show more cleavage. That can be emphasized with showy necklaces to draw the eye to that area.

You should make sure to be honest with yourself. For instance, simply try clothes on and ignore the size numbers. If the item fits and feels good, buy it. Don't be upset if you are a size 18 and the item says a size 20. Remember, you are not your dress size, so make sure to buy what feels and looks best on you.

The President-Elect - The Image of Success

By Ann Skidmore

Have you noticed how Mr. Obama's every actions, words, clothes, ties (and colour of his ties) has been discussed in newspapers, radio reports and by TV journalists? Is it any wonder given we live in an age where we are surrounded, bombarded even, by visual images from large advertising hoardings to the tiny images on our mobile phones. Politicians are now as famous as film stars, actors and sports personalities.

Therefore it is no surprise that part of Mr Obama's bid for the White House incorporated an instinctive, confident and yet comfortable ease in knowing how to dress for success.

Why does his image matter? Well we all need to manage our appearance because it gives off a visual statement about our personality and what is important to us. Our image demonstrates how confident we feel about ourselves and also can give or take away credibility and gravitas. We have 30 seconds to make a first impression and that first impression can last up to 15 years or up to 8 years for a President.

At 6ft 1 ½ and being slender in build Mr. Obama could be a natural model who looks as good in elegant black suits as he does in his smart casual attire (the latter he adopts particularly when he is meeting children). His approach to his presidency was that of a new recruit applying for a new job. He paid attention to his communication skills, his qualifications (again written about at length) and he paid particular attention to his personal image (his manners, grooming and clothes). He knew it wasn't a strictly conventional 'job hire' however it was a 'job hire' nonetheless with millions of votes at stake. So a key message for everyone - men and women alike is that we should always think carefully about what we wear for our jobs for the simple reason that when we feel comfortable with what we are wearing we will look, sound and feel more confident and positive. This then creates the impact of others having confidence in us.

Back to Mr. Obama as a role model for a great 30 second impact. He appears to have an innate flair for knowing how to wear a suit. Mr. Obama has covered miles and miles across the USA delivering speeches, presentations and interviews and appears to have rarely put a foot wrong in how he presented himself. He instinctively knows when to wear a crisp white shirt which somehow retained its crispness and brightness from the morning press briefing to a final meeting at the end of an increasingly busy day. He seemed to also instinctively know when to wear his tie and when to take it off depending on the meeting and the company he was keeping at that time. He has been seen in navy blue and black suits which is different from the more conventional political choice of dark grey suits that other politicians tend to be seen wearing. Black is a more edgy 'on trend' colour which appeals to younger voters. Black as a colour also means 'I can be trusted in difficult times', it is not an extravagant colour.

Not only does Mr. Obama dress for success he looks entirely comfortable in his suits and smart casual attire. That is something all gentlemen might envy when they are wearing trousers too tight, jackets which are badly fitting or a tie which says more about the tie than about the guy. Have you ever remembered a man's tie but not what he spoke about? This is because some men don't realise the importance of wearing clothes that:

* complement their colouring
* balance their build, scale and proportions
* fit with their personality
* are appropriate for the occasion be it business or social
* are up to date and current

Surely Mr. Obama ticks all the above boxes? His clothes are a reinforcement to his message which appears to come across of something like 'trust me I am comfortable, I feel comfortable and all will be well', this was delivered in his acceptance speech so if he were to be asked 'Mr President-Elect can we all be as comfortable as you are in your clothes?', he would surely say 'yes we can'!
